News: 4 days agoAdams rejoined his teammates Sunday after the recent birth of his son, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

Spin: Adams missed the last five practices before he was absent from Saturday's preseason loss at Minnesota, according to coach Antonio Pierce. It's unclear if Adams will make an appearance during one of the Raiders' last two exhibitions, but the quarterback throwing him passes Week 1 and beyond seemingly will be known after Saturday's contest against the Cowboys. Pierce is expected to make a call between veteran Gardner Minshew and second-year pro Aidan O'Connell this weekend, but even with five different QBs targeting Adams in two campaigns in Las Vegas, he surpassed 1,100 yards on both occasions while recording 22 touchdowns in 34 regular-season games.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Considering Adams endured three quarterbacks throwing him the football and a midseason coaching change, his 2023 season was probably better than you remember it being. Adams finished 10th among WRs in fantasy points. He got off to a scorching start, with two 20-point performances in his first three weeks, but suffered an inexplicable, mid-year dip in targets just before Josh McDaniels was dispatched. Under Antonio Pierce, Adams finished strong, posting the league's highest target share (36.4%) and five games of 14-plus fantasy points. It was a reminder that Adams is one of the league's true game-changing receivers, independent of who is throwing him the football. He remains a fantasy WR1 entering his age-31 season.
