News: 6 days agoOlave secured one of four targets for 10 yards in the Saints' 16-14 preseason win over the Cardinals on Saturday night.

Spin: Olave was the target on Derek Carr's first three pass attempts on the opening possession, logging his one catch on the second one. The talented third-year wideout, who produced a career-best 87-1,123-5 line across 16 regular-season games in 2023, is in line to serve as Carr's top receiver once again in the coming season. Olave was shed some proven competition for targets when Michael Thomas (knee) was released this offseason.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Olave is entering his third NFL season after posting a pair of top-25 fantasy campaigns in his his first two campaigns. The 24 year old saw a boost in targets, receptions, yardage and touchdowns in his second season, finishing top 20 among receivers in all but the latter category. The Saints didn't add any significant target competition for Olave, which means he's a near lock to continue handling a massive workload. More usage near the goal line would get Olave to the next level (14 career end zone targets), but he's a good bet for another 80-catch, 1,000-plus yard season and thus makes for a fringe WR1.
